I travel regularly for work and I am always looking for a steal or deal. On a recent workation to #Seattle this is what I found.
Seattle is known for the space needle. I suggest that instead of paying for a view that may vary depending on Seattle’s rainy weather that you grab a glass of wine and snack at the
Skycity restaurant at the top of the needle. You will have food and a view for the same price as just experiencing the view.
The real hidden gem is located down below. I recommend experiencing the chihuly garden and glass. It is a beautiful boutique museum showcasing the life and art of Dale Chihuly. It is a one of a kind exhibition. It is located below the needle at 305 Harrison St. Enter the local zip code 98109 for a discounted ticket.
For a relaxing and cheap view of the city, I recommend the Washington State Ferries. The Bainbridge Ferry leaves regularly from downtown Seattle.
Bainbridge/Bremerton Ferry Bus #41 or 5 from Northgate transit center will take you downtown and get you within .4 miles of the ferry terminal. Bus # 66,67 & 16 from Northgate or Downtown will take you right to the terminal. See Schedule for times. Walk-on Fares: $5.70 for Adults $2.80 with Regional Reduced Fare
Edmonds/Kingston Ferry Take Metro bus #346 from the Northgate Transit Center, then transfer to Community Transit bus # 630 from the Aurora Transit Center. This bus will take you within one block of the terminal. See schedule for times. Walk-on Fares: $5.70 for Adults $2.80 with Regional Reduced Fare Permit/Seniors
Seattle has a seemingly endless happy hour. Most restaurants offer two happy hours per day. The happy hours are usually 3-6pm and then again 10pm until 12 or 1am. They offer a high quality yet limited menu for several hours per day. The restaurants offer items from their menu and the happy hours are not limited to the typical bar food associations. The best deal in town is not on the drinks but on the great quality food at happy hour pricing.
