Unlike Suzie Orman, I recommend credit cards over cash. There can be many incentives and perks; as long as, you pay the full amount owed monthly. I am anti-interest and pro perks.
Below are some current credit card options to get the most rewarding experience:
My favorite: The American Express Platinum Card-travel benefits include; Global Entry or PreCheck Membership fees ($100 dollar value) an annual $200 dollar airline fee credit, Boingo Membership, access to Delta, Priority Pass, Airspace and Centurion Airport lounges. No foreign transaction fees. Transfer partners include JetBlue, Delta, Singapore and Emirates.
Citi Prestige-offset an annual fee with a $250 dollar air travel refund, Global Entry and 4th night free booked through Citi Prestige Concierge.
Chase Sapphire Preferred offers no foreign transaction fees, and offers double points for all travel and dining that can be redeemed with Chase’s own travel tool or by transferring points to the partner of your choice.
Virgin America Visa Signature (Fun in the Sky) perks can include a free checked bag, $150 dollar discount on a companion ticket and flight redemptions as low as 2,500 points.
