Today, I needed a chair for my desk. First, I went into West Elm and I liked one of the displayed chairs.
Unfortunately, I was told I could not get the floor model. I would need to assemble the

chair. My handyman skills are impaired at best. So, I left the store. I did some comparison window shopping. All the other chairs I found were less attractive and double the price of the original chair. So, I returned to West Elm. I coyly asked a store manager to

help. Not only did I get the floor model, but I obtained the chair for 30

dollars less than the asking price. Again, charm, persistence and

schmoozing are the keys to being a successful deal divo in any situation.
